Responsibilities:

  • Interviews patients and documents ocular and medical histories in Electronic Medical records.
  • Performs a variety of diagnostic tests.
  • Assists physician with minor surgical procedures.
  • Prepare procedure and exam rooms.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Ophthalmology COA or COT preferred by not required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Communicate clearly with patients.

Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting patients upon arrival in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Reviews chart data to verify all information.
  • Ensures proper authorization or referral is obtained.
  • Checking patients out, reviewing fee ticket for accuracy, collecting copays and scheduling return appointments.
  • Provides back-up support for incoming telephone calls.
  • Tracks patients in the reception area and communicates with them as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Management of multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Prior healthcare  experience preferred.
