Wendy Jenkins, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, recently returned from The Czech Republic where she participated in a softball camp for the children of Litomerice, a town of approximately 25,000. Litomerice is located in the northern part of Czech at the junction of the rivers Elbe and Ohre`, some 40 miles NW of Prague.
Wendy and her son, Austin, accompanied a group of 11 local members of the United Methodist Church district support of the Czech. The week long softball camp has grown in the last twelve years from 12 children to 121. The parents of the attendees are extremely inquisitive and actually visit with the group at the church where they are housed for the week. Some of the campers actually returned to the states with the group for rotating visits. These visits with each team member exposes the kids to American culture; faith, family, food and fun!
