Dr. Johnson has practiced at the Johnson City Eye Clinic for the past 30 years. He completed his residency at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis Missouri and a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. A medical doctor and surgeon, Dr. Johnson’s practice emphasis now is small incision cataract surgery and the treatment of retinal disease including diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, and macular degeneration. Dr. Johnson has extensive experience in the treatment of neovascular or “wet” macular degeneration, with both photodynamic therapy and Lucentis. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Washington County Tennessee and American Medical Associations. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Quillen School of Medicine.
